Ljubljana Shortlisted for European Green Capital 2015

According tp the municipality of Ljubljana, the Slovenian capital is among the four finalists for the award 'European Green Capita 2015'. Alongside, Brussels, Bristol and Glasgow compete for the title. The winner will be announced in June.

The award was initiated to promote an ecological city life and reward cities that aim at a sustainable development and an enviromental improvement. Stockholm was the first awardee in 2010. Right now, the French town of Nantes holds the title and will be followed by Copenhagen next year.

Every European city, EU canditates included, with a population of over 200,000 inhabitants can apply to be European Green Capital. The most convincing entry is chosen by a jury comprising, amongst others, members of the Europen comission, the European Parliament and the Committee of the Regions.
