Airport renovated, plus new link to Barcelona

The main airport in Ljubljana was renovated in mid-April to provide for new runways and taxiways, improvements in flight control and better security throughout the airport. The improvements should mean a higher level of service for passengers.

One of the newest improvements at Joze Pucnik airport is a direct connection to Barcelona, a destination that is growing more popular among passengers from Central and Eastern Europe. The twice-a-week service is provided by Vueling, a Spanish low-cost carrier.

In a related note, the ash cloud caused by the Icelandic volcano is, as across Europe, causing some havoc to schedules. Passengers should check with airlines before departing for the airport and be prepared for delays. For info, check the official airport web site.
