Warsaw's Beach Bars Open

Warsaw's locals love to make the most of the natural surroundings in the city, and now with the summer season upon us, the city's beach bars have also opened for business.

Admittedly Warsaw is not exactly a seaside paradise. But the sand we do have along the Vistula river is dotted with some of the best spots to escape the hustle and bustle of Warsaw, without even leaving the city centre!

Here are a few ideas for riverside relaxation:

Pepsi has sponsored the newest addition to the Vistula's shores - Port Wisla (Czerniakowski promontory, off ul. Solec), a family-friendly locale. At Port Wisla's sandy beach you'll find palm trees and lounge chairs surrounded by a beach volleyball court, DJ booth, a playground, picnic tables, climbing wall, and a pool (unfortunately the Vistula river itself is not exactly fit for swimming!).

Across the river on the Vistula's right bank is La Playa club (ul. Wybrzeze Helskie 1/5), which caters to a more mature crowd with salsa parties and drum n bass club nights lasting all night.

Finally back on the left bank of the water is Cud Nad Wisla (ul. Wybrzeże Kościuszkowskie, next to the Copernicus Science Centre), a relaxed outdoor club with a small covered stage, gallery, bar, and wine bar.
