Czech beer makers want formula protected

Czech experts have called for the Czech Research Institute of Brewing and Malting to patent their version of powdered beer. The institute has been producing powdered beer since the mid-90s and it is felt that its useful invention is now in need of protection.

Unfortunately for them, two other similar products have also been patented in Korea and Germany, and they have failed to have their own product patented, due to the fact that they have so far been unable to produce evidence of how their product of beer powder differentiates from the beer powders produced by other countries.

Despite this failure to patent the product, the institute still believes that their beer powder is unique, and has stated that unlike similar products, their beer powder ?can be used for mountaineering, long-distance maritime cruising and long-term hikes.?
