Hitler-Owned Paintings Found in Czech Convent

Czech historian and amateur researcher Jiri Kuchal has discovered seven paintings in a convent in Doksany that are believed to have once been owned by the Nazi leader. Hitler was an art enthusiast, and had bought and seized thousands of paintings over his lifetime. These particular paintings, created by German artists such as Franz Eichhorst and Sepp Hilz, were bought by Hitler in 1942 and 1943 at the Great German art exhibitions in Munich.

Once the Nazis had occupied Czechoslovakia, Hitler moved much of his collection to the area to prevent the works being damaged by Allied attacks. The works are now believe to be worth almost 3 million euro.
