Back To Where It All Began...

If we told you that this multicultural, energetic city of diversities was once divided into two, totally separate worlds of terror and fear, would you believe us? Berlin Wall, the symbol of diversion fell down in 1989 marking the end of communist regime in Eastern Europe, and unifying Germany.

To commemorate the event, a bright red viewing platform was built in central Berlin, allowing the visitors to retrace the history of Berlin Wall. An 18-foot-high Infobox, built on Potsdamer Platz, once sliced in half by the Wall now turned into a modern commercial and business center. Beginning from Thursday, the visitors will be able to get to know the former route of the Wall and find their way on an interactive city map of the "before-and-after".

Berlin government spokesman Richard Meng stated that many Berlin tourists were "frustrated to see so little of the Wall left and intensely interested in that era of city history(...)This is a city in which creativity is welcome, where there are a lot of young people - a city where you can have an impact. Other big cities such as London, Paris are already complete, but Berlin is still inventing itself."

The platform will be open to the public until mid-April.
