Museum of Broken Relationships Returns to Zagreb

A curious travelling exhibition that garnered tremendous international success has returned home and is now laying down roots in the Croatian capital.

Originally conceived by two artists, Olinka Vistina and Drazen Grubisic, after their relationship failed, the exhibition comprises of trinkets from bust-ups around the globe.

Each item is accompanied by a note from the donor. For example, a lesbian jilted owing to her partner's infidelity decided to chop up her ex's furniture with an axe. She sent the lethal weapon in with the following note: 'The more her room filled up with chopped up furniture, the more I started to feel better."

Other ill-starred mementos include a pair of unopened candy thongs, teddy bears and poems. The Museum of Broken Relationships is Croatia's first private museum.
