Ljubljana Restaurants
Finding something good to eat in Ljubljana is a piece of cake. Although, the foods that are most likely to have you coming back for seconds probably won't be the traditional Slovene options. The city is slap bang in the middle between Italy, Austria, Hungary, and the Balkans, so nobody here has had to look very far for inspiration.
Whether you like a bit of Serb cuisine, Hungarian goulash, or-a you-a are-a crazy-a for-a da pizza (and no they weren't typing errors, we were going for the Italian accent...) then you'll definitely find what you're after. And the traditional local food isn't really that bad!!

Great food, service, and ambiance. Outstanding dining experience while visiting in Ljubljana. Our waitperson was a female who is studying languages at Ljubljana University and speaks five languages. She made our experience even more special. Highly recommend if looking for options of both local cuisine and north american cuisine.
Not all Slovenians love horsemeat. It is not a traditional choice of meat, in fact it only recently became a trend due to tireless advertisement. I has been frowned upon for centuries (a horse was considered a noble creature) but became more widely consumed after ww2 as a result of food shortage, especially in larger cities (Ljubljana). Unfortunately it became a tourist attraction.
