All that jazz

It's summertime, and the livin' is easy... so rise up singing, spread your wings, and take to the 16th summer jazz festival in Krakow. From July 3-31, the city will be swinging to the sounds of traditional and contemporary jazz, from some of the biggest stars and most promising up and coming acts in the business. Undoubtedly the biggest draw will be Chick Corea and Return to Forever, performing at Hala Wisły on July 5 at 8pm. Another big hit is expected to be the NOSPR and the Stars of Jazz concert, at the philharmonic hall on July 7. The programme will include a new arrangement of extracts from Gershwin's Porgy and Bess, and performances from the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra of Katowice, Tomasz Stańko, and Roberta Gambarini. Primarily based at Piwnica pod Baranami, several other venues around the city will be hosting this year's festival, which is now one of the biggest and most popular in Europe.
