Leisure in Socialist Times

In the People's Republic of Poland the citizes were busy building the system from 8 to 16:00. After work they were becoming different people.

Romuald Broniarek, Aleksander Jałosiński, Bogdan Łopieński, Jan Morek, Wojciech Plewiński and Tadeusz Rolke were press photographers who managed to capture, intentionally or accidentally, everyday reality of socialist Poland. Their works are absurd, funny and sometimes disturbing, showing what for some was "the effort of functioning" and for the other the time of blissful oblivion.
