Film Feast in the Open Air

Think of the charm of summer evenings, sitting in comfy deckchair and drinking cold lemonade or beer. Gentle breeze cools your face, nothing occupies your sight except... a great movie! This is what’s waiting for you all summer long, from July to the end of August.

Let's start with some tempting numbers: 80 films in 12 cycles and 11 locations. Summer Film Capital is a movie cycle which presents great films completely free of charge in the surrounding of Warsaw parks. Each Tuesday, the open-air cinema at Pole Mokotowskie will include cult productions labeled Star-nights. And since this trat is sponsored by Canal+, you can expect films such as:  Lost in Translation, Black Swan, Life of Pi, Vicky Christina Barcelona and many more.

This is also the day for Batman’s fans, who will for sure spend long hours in Bemowo Amphitheater!

The Wednesday sessions will be held in the Saxon Garden and Park Skaryszewski. Awaiting for you will be an unique occasion to become familiar with Polish pre-war comedies, such as "Spy in the mask" or "Doctor". The organizers have prepared also a series for travel’s lovers: Hotel Rwanda, Desert Flowers, Kundun and more.

The Movie Summer in Ursynów, Rembertów and at RKS OkÄ™cie means a Thursday full of fantastic movies. The festival will then be split into three series: Customs, Comedies and Super-productions. And since every country has their own gems to present, the audience of the festival will be able to watch e.g. The Graduate, The Iron Lady, Amelie, The Hangover, Avatar, Braveheart or Slumdog Millionaire.

Furthermore, the Hits section, presented on Friday, will include movies such as: The Ides of March and The Descendants or Carnage, presented in Park Henrykowski. For the first time in the Summer Film Capital, the Copernicus Science Centre will join in and hold film screenings dedicated to global trends in the area of urbanization.

Last but not least, Saturdays will give you plenty of opportunity to spend nights in the company of Stars, especially those starring in The Thin Red Line, Burn after reading or Ocean’s 12 and 13. It’s also a perfect time for some romance, introduced by productions such as Letters To Juliet or A Little Bit of Heaven.

There is no time to rest between summer Warsaw pleasures!
