The 2013/14 season in the National Opera

The National Opera is switching to the fifth gear this coming season. The incoming gems include the new version of "The Devils from Loudun" by Penderecki, as well as an opera diptych by Mariusz Trelinski. The two operas, staged in cooperation with the Met are Tschaikovsky's "Yolanta" and "The Graybeard's Castle" by Bela Bartok.

"The Devils of Loudun", one of the repertoire's flagships, is a strongly expressive preformance and a devilish atmosphere, telling a story that combines passion with cruelty and sensuality with political cynicism.

All fans of Richard Wagner Will be pleased to know that a new title of this great composer is now joining the repertoire - "Lohengrin" (1850), the composer's romantic opera about a confrontation between good and evil.
