Warsaw Autumn Festival

Fri 21st
Sep

The Warsaw Autumn Festival is a festival of contemporary classical music that takes place every autumn in various cultural centres, churches, and music halls of the city, with the majority of the concerts being held in the National Philharmonic Hall and the Zacheta Gallery. The festival's history goes back to its establishment in 1956 during the dark days of Communism, when the organizers decided to introduce lighter, more modern music to the general public. Though the festival lasts only nine days, nevertheless about twenty concerts manage to take place, with esteemed musicians from all over the world performing.
