Poznan Castle Turns a New Leaf

After two years of renovation and makeovers Poznanians will be able to enjoy new facilities at the Poznan Castle. Its landmark will now be the newly rebuilt Great Hall, with a mezzanine in its former foyer now serving as a cafe. All levels of the castle will now be available by lift. A total novelty is a new cinema showroom and a modernized attic space, serving as a stage for festivals.
Before the renovation the castle had been a labyrinth of corridors, with no distinct center, and we managed to re-create that space, said Tomasz Wojtkowiak from Toya Design architect studio.
The refurbished area is as big as 5,000 m sq, equal to a soccer field, and cost 61 million zlotys. New space will be available from December 10., official opening on December 10.
