Poznan Pounded In Overnight Floods

Heavy rainfall across Poland in the morning of July 24th resulted in damage to countless properties, and the tragic deaths of at least 8 people.

Poznan did not escape the pandemonium, and the train station was amongst the worst hit sites. Heavy flooding caused much of the station to be disabled, and there were significant delays in the morning for most services.

All in all, there were two deaths and thirty injuries in the Wielkopolska region. The fire brigade alone had to deal with over 1100 incidents.

For Poles it has been a peculiar summer, with swelteringly hot spells, punctuated by heavy downpours.
