Manchester vs Chelsea In All England Final

English football received a boost last week when Manchester United saw off a talented Barcelona side to set up an all English final. It was Chelsea that came through the other semi-final against premiership rivals in what must have been sweet revenge for the same fixture last year where Liverpool were triumphant.

All of which sporting drama bringing about the bizarre scenario whereby two English teams are travelling thousands of miles east to play each other, along with hordes of their fans who will hopefully spend some time to get to know Moscow a little after coming all this way!

The kick off is at 2245 local time, a late start to allow for the English who can't travel to be able to watch at the time of 1945.

A recent boost to those dreading the infamous Russian bureaucracy is that (according to the NY Times) officials have decided to allow Brits to enter Moscow with only a valid ticket for the match at Luzhniki Stadium, meaning thousands more will be able to travel and save a few pennies on visa processing (no refunds for those organised to get one in advance though!). This is certainly a nice touch in light of the slightly frosty relationships that had chilled things between Moscow and London for some time.
