Moscow Culture

Moscow's not all about strippers, champagne and caviar you know, and for those of you without any vices but with plenty of intellectual passions (or indeed for those of you with lots of vices but who just need a night off!) Russia's capital is not to be found wanting when it comes to art and culture.

Don't worry if you don't know your Bolshoi from your Bolsheviks, or your Chekhov from your Tchaikovsky, Local Life's culture directory will help you find something for you - be it a musical performance, ballet, opera, play or art exhibition. And if you do decide to stop off at a restaurant before and a bar after your cultural experience, then guess what - we've got that covered too!

Poland,
Pushkin House-Museum

It is a beautiful structure and as I survey its majestic likeness in a photograph, it reminds me of my Russian ancestry, and makes me long to return once again.

United States,
St. Basil's Cathedral

fantastic place to be , also and you can feel safe if you can speak russian.

An excellent Gallery in all respects. I spent 8 hours there on a rainy day in September 2010 and throughly enjoyed it.

United States,
Tretyakov Gallery

Great museum, a must for all space enthusiasts! Lots of paraphernalia, very well exhibited. Very easy to get to: right next to the metro station.

Switzerland,
Cosmonaut Museum

Really interesting museum but with lots of amazing exhibits and stories. Unfortunately I couldn't understand any of it as it was all in Russian. A real shame as a bit of text in a common language (English/Spanish/French) would have really made it. Definitely worth a visit though.

United Kingdom,
Cosmonaut Museum
