Centennial Hall joins UNESCO's list

The Centennial Hall in Wroclaw has been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List of humanity's outstanding natural and cultural legacy.

The Centennial Hall was constructed in 1911-1913 by Max Berg, when the town was the German city of Breslau, and is a landmark in the history of reinforced concrete architecture.

The Hall is amongst seventeen other sites announced by the UNESCO committee, currently convening in Vilnius, which include such diverse legacies as the Sichuan Giant Panda Sanctuaries in China, Chongoni Rock Art Area in Malawi and the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape in the United Kingdom.
