Wroclaw Philharmonic to Inaugurate 2011-12 Season

The Wroclaw Philharmonic is preparing for the official inauguration of its 2011/2012 artistic season, scheduled for October 7 2011. The opening concert will take place in the Philharmonic Hall, where the Wroclaw Philharmonic Orchestra will be led by Marek Pijarowski and joined by cello soloist Tomasz Daroch. The concert will feature performances of Herembeszta's Toccata, Lutoslawski's Cello Concerto, Liszt's symphonic poem known as Mazeppa, as well as Stravinsky's Firebird ballet suite.

Several concerts will prelude the official opening, so there's no need to wait until the beginning of October to hear the best of Wroclaw's classical performers. Stop by the Philharmonic's official website for a full schedule of the orchestral, choral, and chamber music performances planned for the coming months.
