Fat Thursday: Tłusty Czwartek

Catholic or no, Polish people love to celebrate Fat Thursday (known locally as Tłusty Czwartek), A day with some original meaning... like about a saint or something... but the important part is the doughnuts! PPączki are a traditional Polish doughnut and they are absolutely delicious. Poland's cukiernias enjoy one very crazy day as people line up in queues down the block to get their hands on some of these juicy fried dough balls. Many order doughnuts from their favourite Cukiernia in bulk in advance of the day! So make sure you get in early to get the best doughnuts. People have huge arguments over which of the many, many Krakowian Cukiernia's is the best but we've done the hard work for you.
