Stanisław Słowiński - Workshops
We invite you to workshops for musicians playing string instruments conducted by Stanisław Słowiński - one of the leading violinists of the European jazz and crossover scene.
We invite you to participate regardless of your level of playing the instrument or proficiency in improvisation; classes are tailored to the individual needs of participants.
Issues covered:
Theory
- Technical and theoretical aspects; role of improvisation workshop in building own musical language, working on sound.
- Basics of improvisation - defining the connection between the emotional meaning of music and the means used; how to translate emotions into sound.
- Using improvisation experiences in the interpretation of classical works.
Practice
- Basic technical exercises; daily warm-up, right-hand apparatus, loosening the left hand; universal exercises building a natural combination with the instrument.
- Implementing different types of bow grip; fitting the right-hand camera to a particular type of articulation; application solutions in improvisation and classical music.
- Ranges, modal scales, arcades, rhythmic patterns; exercise methods, use in improvisation. - Using the interpreter experience of classical music in improvisation.
The workshops will take place from October 16-19, 2019, in the halls of the Krakow club Strefa.
The price of participation in the workshop is PLN 150.
As part of the fee, participants are provided with two individual 45-minute lessons and additional group consultations [depending on the number of participants].
