Slovakia Prepares for Paralympic Games

For this years Paralympic Games, taking place in London from August 29 to September 9, Slovakia has sent a team consisting of 34 members. This includes 30 physically challenged athletes, three visually disabled athletes, and one guide. They will compete in nine of the twenty events taking place throughout the games.

The best sport for Slovak athletes has been table tennis, where the team took away four medals. During the Beijing games in 2008, the team returned with six medals. This year, all eyes are on Jan Riapos, who is also chairman of the Slovak Paralympic Committee, and Rastislav Revucky, who together will defend their gold in mens table tennis from Beijing.
