Contemporary Museum to Open in Temporary Home

As it waits for the construction of a permanent home (to be completed in 2016), the Wroclaw Contemporary Museum will spend the next few years in an air-raid shelter. The above-ground bunker, with its 1.1 metre-thick walls, was originally built in 1942, and was renovated in 2010 for the museum's use.

Celebrating the opening is a weekend of special events and an exhibition called "It Beings in Wroclaw" featuring the works of Zbigniew Gostomski (open until 27 November). Taking place from 2-4 September, the opening will also feature musical performances, workshops, and a film screening of Wilhelm Sasnal's "Swineherd".
