Wroclaw Bids For Expo 2012

Not content with winning the rights to host Euro 2012, the pluckiest city in Poland is going all out to host the Expo 2012 as well!

What is an Expo anyway? Well put simply it is a a vast international business, media and cultural event - a platform for exchanging ideas and technologies, and showcasing achievements and cultures. So what better place to hold this event than the city dubbed at 'The Meeting Place'.

The theme of the the Expo 2012 is how our leisure time shapes the quality and standard of our lives, and Wroclaw is certainly a fine place for anyone in pursuit of a little leisure. From visiting Wroclaw's many museums, galleries and cathedrals, to taking river cruises and drinking on the Rynek, not to mention a trip to the zoo, this small city has a lot to offer. And if Wroclaw does manage to oust its rivals Yeosu in South Korea and Tangiers in Morocco, then there will certainly be a lot of happy punters!

Football fans and culture vultures could be brushing shoulders in 2012, and although they might end up in Wroclaw for very different reasons we're sure they'll go home praising this little city as one of Europe's hippest and friendliest hotspots.
