Bulgarian PM Opens Int'l Spring Fair

Bulgaria's Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg gave Monday the official opening of the 25th International Spring Fair in the southern city of Plovdiv. The International Consumer Goods and Technologies expo is held annually, attracting Bulgarian and foreign companies to promote their production. This year more than 1,200 Bulgarian and foreign companies will take part in the expo, organized in four specialized salons - textile, cosmetics, furniture and household appliances. Two new specialized expositions will be opened - Jeweller Expo, presenting manufacturers, distributors, designers of jewelry, and Bulchimex, presenting world leaders in chemistry business. An Exposition of Municipalities in Bulgaria is organized for the first time as part of the spring fair. Italy is an official partner of the Plovdiv this year with 112 Italian companies partaking the event. Bulgarian premier is scheduled to turn the first sod of a modern multi-storey parking lot in the fair area.
