Slovakia’s Two-Headed Tortoise

As with Paul the German octopus who delighted audiences with his World Cup predictions in 2010, Slovakia has Magdalena, a two-headed, five-legged tortoise as their guide in predicting the Slovakian hockey championship.

Similar to conjoined twins, Magdalena (one head is Magda, the other is Lena) is the result of two embryos that failed to split correctly. This has resulted in Magdalenas two heads, two brains, and two nervous systems which work independently. The tortoises fifth leg is located in between the two heads. While Magdalena manages to get around on her own, it remains a mystery whether the tortoise will be equally successful in her attempts to predict the results of this seasons hockey championship!
