Before Sunrise Take Three

Actor Ethan Hawke has revealed that a third instalment in the acclaimed Before Sunrise saga is in the pipeline.

The first film, which paired Hawke with sultry French star Julie Delpy, saw two young travellers fall in love during a chance encounter in Vienna.

Filmed in 1994 by Richard Linklater, the movie was a huge hit both with critics and cinema-goers, making more than double its $2.5 budget.

The team got back together in 2003 to make Before Sunset, in which the action shifts to Paris, and opportunity the emerges for the pair to rekindle their romance.

"There's nine years between the first two movies and, if we made the film next summer, it would be nine years again so we've really started thinking that would be a good thing to do, Hawke told French magazine Allocine.

All three of us have been having similar feelings that we're ready to revisit those characters, he added.

We're going to try write it this year, he concluded.
