The name Adam Gessler is rightly one of high regard in the pantheon of European chefs. So when his name appears on the front of a restaurant, you can expect something rather special.
At Gessler, on the same site as Hotel Francuski in the centre of Krakow, you will not be disappointed. Whether you want to linger awhile and enjoy a sumptuous meal with a loved one, or are in a rush and need to know that you are going to be served something memorable all the same, the quality and service do not change. In fact, dine here once and you might seriously begin to think about moving into the hotel.

Basically, you get a 3-course lunch for about 24 PLN (that's about 4.50 GBP) in a lovely setting. Food is always simple but delicious. A real find.
Fantastyczna restauracja, swietny serwis, bardzo uprzejmi kelnerzy, jedzenie proste, swieze i tanie !! za 20 zl mozna tutaj zjesc pyszny lunch skladajacy sie z trzech dan !! polecam, zawsze jak eksperymentuje z innymi knajpami w poblizu to pozniej zaluje, ze znowu nie poszlam do Gesslera we francuskim.
We liked it very much when the restaurant first opened. Two weeks ago they introduced a new menu. The new prices are quite high and the quality of food and service have fallen. We had dinner there yesterday and the bill for 3 people for dinner was more than 350 zloty - too expensive for mid-level food and poor service! For these prices, it is more enjoyable and better value to enjoy a "fine dining" experience at Ancora, Pod Roza, Pod Aniolami or Magda Gessler.
Best LUNCH deal....you get a drink, soup, salad, main dish, and dessert for a great price. LOVE IT!
Great 3 course lunch (Mon-Fri) combined with perfect service. There are only few places like here where you get so much value for money.
I'll for sure come more often...
