Editor's review

Cheers Pub is rapidly gaining a reputation as the place to be for ex-pats in Krakow, drawing as it does a regular crowd from English-speaking nations (and more) around the globe.

Of course, as with anywhere in this city, you're always likely to find yourself outnumbered somewhat by the locals, which all adds to the colour and reminds you that you actually live here.

Cheers Pub has plenty more to offer than just the company, though. Apart from the Tuesday evening ex-pat nights, there are regular speed dating events, live music, live Sky Sports, and other special events.

And, of course, there's a fine selection of drinks, snacks and cocktails on offer.

Strange...I was at the ex-pat night on the 30th April and it was busy. It had been a couple of years since I'd been and the numbers have grown. We had a great night. Thanks for the dance Dave :-) Cheers Tom!

Me and my wife came here last week for the expat evening???? Empty next day empty day after empty mind you this was a weekend i think the reviews for this bar have been written by the owner or the staff very sad to be honest the barmaid was more interested in talking to her boyfriend than the only two customers in the cellar bar too many steps down no ac no food an no scottish people will not return! Would have givin zero but no choice only to give 1

Tom, Kasia and your great team just want to say what a great Burns night we last weekend. The haggis, whisky and great pipers were superb. Great ambiance diverse mix of nationalities, although plenty of kilts on display. Good to see everyone joining in and reciting poems. Well done!

Visited Cheers on the 30th of December nobody in the bar when we arrived about eight. Was served by a pleasant barmaid. We had a couple of drinks and left as there was no atmosphere. We returned on Hogmany closed, January 1st closed, January 2nd closed,We returned at 1930hrs on January 4th expats night one guy in the bar.We thought we would get the warm Scottish welcome this bar professes to give we were totally ignored by the owner and his wife!At least the guy standing at the bar from Aberdeen spoke. As we are a proud Scottish couple thinking we might meet some nice people we were greatly disappointed .We been visiting Krakow for 5 years now and this is the only bar that we would definitely not return to. I have rated this 3 out of ten as the barmaid was pleasant.

Hi Tom, I have visited your Pub a few times over the years when i visit Krakow, and always find the Ex Pat nights enjoyable, I have just seen your latest post and you say the website is up and running, I just tried it and it says "This account is suspended" maybe this is why people think you are gone. Anyway i will arrive on Sunday 20/01/2013 for a week to recharge my batteries, so look forward to popping in for a Piwo or 6 :)

We went to try to find this bar last week and could not. The website links are no longer active, so I assume that it is closed?

We were are bit disappointed as we have just arrived in Krakow for a year and were looking for a little place to hangout.

Been to Krakow many times last time May 2011, i usually go to local polish pubs in the old Jewish area as i can speak a little polish and enjoy trying to improve my language skills from the locals, but if i need a good fry up and some Scottish footie i usually go to the Irish embassy bar, but seeing the reviews here i will surely drop in and give it a go seeing as its owned by a fellow Scot i gotta support him, i know Ul Grodzka well it has a main Tourist info office so should be easy to find, hopefully i will be over in June\July time looking forward to seeing the place :)

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I have been on holiday in Krakow few weeks ago, went to Cheers & I liked it but as someone already said girls look like they dont really want to be there but the rest is great. Will pop in on my next visit in the summer.

Hi Folks, As Editor of Cracow Life, I'd ask everyone who posts (not only on this page but on others on this site ) to do so with courtesy. I am well aware of a number of reviews (particularly about expat pubs) that are clearly aimed at denigrating a particular place, rather than writing an honest review about it. We will not hesitate to remove such blatant posts.

As a rule we do try to step back from this all and allow all reviews (positive and negative) about all places on our site, as an excellent way for customers to provide constructive feedback to business owners. Thank you all for keeping this site a valuable source of information for travellers to Krakow, and not a place to vent any personal animosities - those are best dealt with elsewhere! Regards, Mark

Hi, we have spent the last 3 nights in Krakow and on each evening popped into Cheers. We found the place quirky and unusual, yes granted on 2 of the evenings it was quiet, but the place was clean, staff friendly and the owners lovely. We would defo recommend a visit and if we go back we will be popping in.

nicely said Tom. It is pretty sad when some body has to hide behind the internet trying to destroy some body 's business. But not to worry myself all my ex pat friends will support you and the person who is writing this we all know who you are and why you are doing this because you failed. You won't be seeing any of use again and we'll be telling every body that we know to keep the hell away from you, good bye to the next place.

I would like to reply to David that put the last post on ths site, i dont understand why you are so set in running down my bar, yes my bar i will gladly meet you and see what your problem is and i dont think it is with my bar. i feel you are a friend of an other bar owner and are trying to distroy my bar with bad revue. the first thing i will say to you is use spell check before you hit send and as you work for a london newspaper you should be able to do this also as i also have a company in London and visit regular, so my point is make sure your facts are correct before printing in the london paper and that you can back it up as i will have you for slander. Please visit me the next time you are in Krakow and i will gladly speak to you face to face and not hide behind this site. all posts on this site are people that have came and liked our bar and we dont control these comments. As for you comming back with a 47 strong stag party then i am sure there is plenty of bars in Krakow that may take you but we wont and dont want 47 stags in our bar so good luck.

Well i have been living in Krakow for around 6 months now and have visited Cheers Pub a couple of dozen times i guess. Fantastic place with a friendly atmosphere and the beer is served chilled. The pub boasts of a flat screen Wall mounted LCD TV, great for watching football over a glass of beer. And if you think you are good at darts, then come along and have a throw. The hosts and the staff make sure you have a pleasant time. Tuesday nights(Expats Get Together) and Saturday Nights(Live Bands) are a must go. Visit Cheers Pub and you won't regret.

What a great Burns Night Supper on 28th. I am english but have lived in Krakow for 7 months. Took several polish friends who enjoyed the haggis, tradition, atmosphere and most of all the piper and other guys in full scottish dress. Thanks to Tom,Kasia and everyone who worked so hard to make sure everyone enjoyed it.

This is a great pub right in the centre of Krakow. Good venue and friendly and welcoming staff. The expat nights every Tuesday are always good fun and are open to locals, expats and anyone passing through. Great place to go and meet new people.

As Barman of this pub I see many customers coming in,new faces as well as regulars, and the simple fact is that we actually take the time out to speak to our customers and listen, make them feel very welcome and try to make their stay as pleasurable as possible.I cannot speak for other pubs,of which there are many in Krakow, but know that there wouldnt be a negative comment from anyone that has visited us,to the extent of the ones displayed on here. Thanks to all for your kind words:)

As a Canadian on a 6 week assignment in Krakow I was feeling a little out of place. I found out about Cheers on Facebook and went to their ex-pat night yesterday. I have never received a warmer welcome or been made to feel part of a group than by the guys there. An interesting mix of people all happy to chat over good beer! Thanks everyone!

What can isay about cheers ! much more than the last ex pat

i went on several ex pat nights and found this place so clean and has great friendly staff and customers sadly it doesent do food and it realy doesent matter as once you start talking to the other customers and enjoy the good beer food is the last on your mind. this is a great little bar and is ideal for people that dont want the noisey other bars that get the bad ex pats crowed. i will now use it as my local from now on, well done to the people that own this good little bar.
