Acquaphonica

"The first time I heard the music of the Acquaphonica band was in 2012.

Their first album came out, under the title "Private Enemy", the leader and composer finished her Conservatory in Utrecht and I knew that I found something special for myself. Not knowing anything about musicians, I listened to this record for weeks, delighting with each new sound again.

Despite the fact that I was hearing the band at the beginning of their musical journey; sometimes too many sounds, too many ideas but as it usually happens and what is so difficult to explain often - something just clicked between us. The core, the reason, the basis and the reason why this music appealed to me is composer, pianist and leader - Italian, Federica Colangelo.

The piano fascinated her when she saw the instrument with friends, at the age of eight. The impression was so strong that from then Federica began to download music lessons until the age of eighteen. Then there were studies in Utrecht, a bachelor of jazz and a master's degree in classics. Because when she heard and saw "The Köln Concert" by Keith Jarrett, she knew that improvisation is what draws her the most. After her return from the Netherlands to Rome, to my great joy, in 2016 came their next album titled "Chiaroscuro", published by Alfa Projects."

This event happens in Piec Art Acoustic Jazz Club
