Jennifer Teege: My Grandpa Would Have Shot Me

When she was 38, Jennifer Teege discovered by chance that she was a granddaughter of the infamous commandant of Plaszow Death Camp in Krakow, Amon Goeth, aptly played by Ralph Fiennes in "The Shindler's List". Goeth's life companion, and the beloved grandma of Jennifer Teege, Ruth Irene, committed suicide in 1983. Jennifer herself is a daughter of a German mother and a Nigerian father, raised in a foster family after she was given up for adoption at the age of 4 weeks.

In her book, "Amon. My Grandpa Would Have Shot Me", Jennifer Teege shares her difficult family story she won't ever be able to escape, and a meeting with her long time unseen mother.

A meeting with the author promoting her book at Galicia Jewish Museum will be held in Polish and German, admission free.
