12th Silent Film Festival

Few venues are better suited to a silent film festival than Kino Pod Baranami. Located in a grand old palace right on the Rynek, you could well imagine Pola Negri sweeping up the stairwell in her silk ball gown. This year's incarnation will be casting its net far and wide, with vintage cuts from India, Japan, Mongolia and the Middle East. There will also be beloved classics such as Golem, and intriguing forgotten features such as Erotikon - widely cited as the first Czech film of stature - which caused quite a stir on its initial release in 1928.
