The Florianka Hall (Aula Florianka) is one of Cracow's hidden treasures. The palatial building is just a stone's throw from the Old Town centre, and its lavish interiors have played host to a plethora of events since it came under the wing of Cracow's Music Academy in 1956. Cracow hosts a number of internationally renowned music festivals each year such as 'Muzyka w Starym Krakowie' (Music in Old Cracow) during which this hall is one of the leading venues. The building boasts a splendid arcaded courtyard, a distinctive feature of the city's architecture.
