Szara Kamienica (the Grey House) is a place where different fields of life cross in a modern way. The former noble palace serves today as a mixed-use commercial and residential complex with office space for large and medium-sized companies and for contemporary art gallery, The Grey House Gallery, as well. The gallery was established in 2010; its main purpose is to promote art of the younger generation and present the works by already popular artists. The profile of the gallery includes individual and collective shows, as well as exhibitions by external curators. The gallery is run by the Foundation Grey House, mainly operating to preserve historical monuments, revitalize both the historical and cultural tissue, and support cultural activities on a range of levels. Taking up a tiptop address right at the heart of the Main Square, the enterprise wants to bring some fresh dynamism to Krakow's art scene.
