Snowman Saves the Day

Firemen have praised cops who kept a cool head after they used a snowman to put out a fire threatening to burn down a house at Wiener Neustadt south of Vienna.
The three police officers raised the alarm after spotting the fire that had started in two large paper bins outside the property, which had then set the front of the house on fire. But instead of waiting for firemen to arrive, they grabbed a kids snowman and dumped it on the burning waste paper bins, then followed that up with armfuls of snow. The trio then made snowballs and threw them at the fire on the wall of the house until it went out.
A fire brigade spokesman said: "When we got there there was nothing else for us to do, apart from tidy up."
Firemen believe the fire that caused 30,000 GBP of damage was started when the home owner put ash from a fire in a nearby rubbish bin.
