Right across from Riga's only Gay Hotel and the city's best gay club, XXL, is the first and only (so far) gay sauna in Latvia, Varaviksne. The spacious and clean sauna provides a number of services and areas in which to relax, such as both steam and dry saunas, a jacuzzi, a cruising area, cabins, toilets with showers, and even private video rooms. The sauna even has its own bar, and is open from Sunday through Thursday from 3 pm until 2 am, and Friday and Saturday from 3 pm until 7 am. Entrance fees are reduced to 7 Lats for guests under 25, with a regular fee of 10 Lats for those over, and a towel, condom, and lubricant are included in the price of the entrance.

I went with my partner and sauna were very disappointed. Although it was Friday the place was empty, we were charged more expensive than the rate we were told yesterday. The steam room was damaged and did not say before paying and seemed not very clean jacuzzi

the place itself is very nice, but on the weekend that I came there it was ALMOST EMPTY (except one drunk guy who slept on the couch the whole night, one unattractive old man and one weird young guy who always closed himself alone in a private cabin).
