Cheap beer, endless vodka, and bar snacks, Polish style... no wonder Ambasada Sledzia is such a popular spot in Krakow city centre.

It harks back to a time when cheap 'watering holes' were common in Polish cities, offering lifes basic-but-essentials, such as alcohol and herring tapas. In fact the name of the bar could be read as Herring Embassy, a clever play on words by the owners, as many of the other buildings that share Ambasada's street are in fact real life embassies.

Delicious! Huge portions of herring in cream, followed by white sausage with horseradish and mustard! Meals cost just 8 zl. Drinks about 4 zl. This place rocks!

great place for a beer or some suspicious looking, but delicious tasting Polish cuisine... nice crowd
