Editor's review

A new addition to the evergrowing assembly of bars on Plac Nowy, Baraka has nevertheless taken a different tack in its choice of decor. A swirling pattern of blue and white rings covers the interior from top to toe, making this a decidedly trippy option for an evening drink. You could well imagine Hunter S.Thompson propping up the bar, regaling customers with tales of his psychadelic adventures. Djs spin reggae, dub and drum 'n' bass every Thursday. Upstairs the vibe changes, and you'll find a laidback suite of rooms hosting regular exhibitions and plenty of comfy sofas to settle down into. Baraka certainly contributes another lively facet to the weird and wonderful world of Kazimierz.

I met the most beautiful woman in there. Still stay in touch. Can't thank the place enough.

Excellent place - I would rate it six points out of five, actually.

I was first sort of deceived by the interior. The groundfloor looked rather 1980s-style to me. That was before I got to the bar. Very nice selection - wide range of cocktails, wines, spirits, you name. Do not try any of the Latin American wines, though. They give you a headache.

Having checked out the bar, it is time to rise to the first floor. The upper floor looks totally different. The bars there are shorter but just as well equipped as on the ground floor. Enough room is left for Poland's finest DJs, who make their appearances there. The dancefloor and the seating area are nicely joint with together. The paintings on the walls are worth a closer look. Contemporary Polish and international artists are to be discovered. Not by chance do they choose this place for frequent exhibitions.

This place gives you an ideal feeling of contemporary Polish lifestyle.

It's been a while since I was in this bar (april), I had a good time there. I really like the way the place looks, the coktails are great, the music too and the people who work there are really nice and helpful. There's a nice contrast between downstairs (wild!) and upstairs (more mellow), and when I was there there was a good deejay and I've been dacing all night with a bunch of cool people who were there. Nice crowd! Don't miss this place!

Baraka is a very nice place to start the night, very well situated in KAZIMIERZ. I have first tried the place because I found the deco (Blue with a mosaic gold sun) very amazing. Then I have found a good and refreshing french "PASTIS"! After a thirsty walk in Cracow, it works !

The second time I have checked (not really by purpose) the barmaid's knowledge of delicious (and dangerous) cocktail... (barmaid are also very good looking ;)

Baraka = good place, good beverages, nice barmaid, so I will return there next time I will spent a night in Cracow!

Baraka is really something different! I think it's one of the best places to go to in Kazimierz, and the whole of Cracow for that matter. Where all the other bars at Kazimierz have a gloomy, dark, ancient looking interior, Baraka is like something from a different world. As you can see on the picture it looks superb and it's like that in every detail, even the toilets are a treat!

The music is good, a little more laid back during daytime, at night more powerful, but always interesting. It's a good place for meeting people, but as well for sitting at the large windows and looking out on the square.

I was told that on the floor above the bar another part will be opened soon, which is going to have a different atmosphere, a little more zen-like, where there will be art-exhibitions, should be interesting. I will surely take a look when I get back to Cracow!

Go there!
