Consulate General of Austria in Krakow invites you to take part in the third edition of Austria Days in October and November. The program of events promoting Austrian culture, history and art in Poland, among others. exhibitions, lectures, theater performances, concerts and presentations of books. As part of Austrian Days, November 22, we invite you to a special preview of Happy End - the latest work of Michael Haneke, one of Austria's most respected directors. Legend of the Austrian cinema, Michael Haneke (Funny Games, White Ribbon) presents a story about a rich family living in French Calais. The film's action takes just a few days, during which long hidden secrets, facing the heroes face the catastrophe. Happy End is a truly dark satire on the life of the European bourgeoisie and a sharp commentary on the future of the West in general. She starred in one of her favorite actresses, Isabelle Huppert and Jean-Louis Trintignant. This is their fourth joint film and the second, after the Love Awards, a meeting under the Austrian master.

The Polish premiere of the film is scheduled for January 19, 2018.

Under the most ironic of the titles of Haneke's hides is one of the most intriguing films of this creator, as sharp as the look of Jean-Louis Trintignant. On the one hand there is an overview of the iconic themes that appear in the Austrian cinema (intergenerational conflict, terrible burghers, dysfunctional families, violence, whose victims appear at the least expected moment, old age, the power of technology). On the other hand, it is a brutal diagnosis made in Europe (in a way, admit, shocking, but also funny). It's also the electrifying screen meeting of Haneke's stars: Isabelle Huppert plays the rich family's head, while Jean-Louis Trintignant plans her suicide father. Living in Calais (let's say it's a town that has become a symbol of refugee crisis), the Burmese family is encountering a series of catastrophes within a few days, leading the Laurent to a collapse. In the same direction is undoubtedly dysfunctional, devoid of empathy and vitality West. What do you mean happy end?
