Recognition Records opens its archives and invites you to take a futuristic sentimental journey. The stages are set by 9702 (CD version) and 9799 (4 tracks only in EP vinyl version).
The four songs from the single came from the first album of Jacek Sienkiewicz (Recognition CD): these earliest recordings openly refer to the formulas of rhythmic densities of the Detroit Techno, although the end result of this confrontation turns out to be surprisingly "separate" and individualistic. Album 9702 contains a set of varied works registered five years after the debut album released by the Warsaw label.
Extensive compositions and short improvisational soundtracks resembling the eccentric proposals of such labels as (early) Warp Records and Rephlex Records are here with saturated minimalist techno melancholies and abstract collage structures that share many of the features of the clicks'n'cuts trend of the late '90s. The characteristic feature of the presented archives is the frequent use of human voice samples.
The whole remixed material consisting of both discs contains all the essential distinguishing marks of the achievements of Jacek Sienkiewicz himself and his Recognition - attention to detail of the sound space, inclinations to the experiment and focus on the complex motive of the rhythmic base.
This surprising freshness and momentum, the collection of music from the first five years of existence of Recognition is a must for Jacek Sienkiewicz fans and enthusiasts of Polish electronic music of the twentieth and twenty-first century.
