The St. Stephen’s Global Ensemble is a touring chamber orchestra performing a highly expressive and dramatic concert of musical works from different parts of the world. This ensemble includes student members of the orchestra and percussion programs at St. Stephen’s Episcopal School, an international boarding school in Austin, Texas, United States of America, with the award winning world music band, ATASH. Orchestra director and Atash violinist, John Moon will lead this touring group through an eclectic program of music with compositional influences of classical, blues, jazz, percussion, Mystic Sufi, Central and South America, Indian, and European traditions. This is the 6th European performance tour.

Voted BEST WORLD MUSIC BAND in Austin for the 6 years straight – Atash combines master musicians from around the globe to create a powerful, worldly original sound that inspires people of all ages and from all walks of life to dance and commune in a celebration of life! Beyond Austin, Atash has spread its message of love and peace on the east and west coasts, in Taiwan, China, Spain and México, gaining legions of fans and sharing stages with such notable acts as Youssou N’Dour, Maceo Parker, Angelique Kidjo, Ojos de Brujo, The Counting Crows, Diego El Cigala, Omar Souleyman, Fatoumata Diawara, Ricardo Lemvo, Delhi 2 Dublin, Red Baraat, Dengue Fever, and fellow Austinites The Octopus Project. They are truly the Austin ambassadors of world music. When the music hits you, you feel no pain.
