The historical institution of the Krakow Opera, dating back to the 17th century, has been revamped and in late 2008 moved into its brand new location on Lubicz Street, just a stone's throw from the central train station. Previously operating in the breathtaking Slowacki Theatre, the opera has finally received a home of its very own, and opera fans can expect more frequent performances in the new building. It is a great addition to Krakow's cultural scene, and hopefully they can attract some really big stars and pull in the crowds. Maybe an Opera Festival at some stage?
