Day Trip To Slavakia

Hi, I'm planning a couple of days in Zakopane in April. One of the days of my visit is I would like to make a day trip Slovakia. Can someone kindly give me some tips of how I should do this? (buses, where should I stop etc etc) I am not into skiing and even if I was, in April there won't be any I guess .... I just want to cross a border. (Please bare in mind that I am an islander, my country is an island ... I know it may sound silly, but being able to literally walk from a country to another different country is fascinating for an islander) :) And having a photo op between two different countries is wow for me! Maybe just wander around in the closest town in Slovakia and perhaps visit that castle. (Forgot the name at the moment) Thanks Elinor
