TIFF Festival // 24 Hours of Photography

The fourth edition of TIFF Festival: “24 Hours of Photography” is yet another experiment on the form and theme of the festival. This year we are reaching into one of the most basic issues concerning photography: TIME.

MAIN PROGRAM

All the events of this edition will take place within a time frame of 24 hours, starting with a vernissage of the Main Program in the Contemporary Museum of Wroclaw. Featured artists:

- Ester Vonplon

- Daisuke Yokota.

- Gert Jochems

- Hans Christian Schink

The projects exhibited in the Main Program have one thing in common: They all examine the complexity of time, however each author understands it in a different way.

This section will also host an exhibition prepared by Michal Sita, titled “Zoological archive”, presented in the art gallery Entropia.

PUBLICATIONS

The fourth edition of TIFF will host an expanded selection of photographic publications, examining the Dutch Photobooks. The selection, prepared by Erik Kessels will be presented in Studio – BWA Wroclaw. Erik Kessels is a well-established dutch designer and curator. He is mostly known for his publications and his use of photography to tell visual stories in books. He is the Creative Director of KesselsKramer Publishing. The aim is to present the photobook not only as a means of exhibiting photographs, but as an autonomous work of art. The newly refurbished gallery allows for a comfortable reading space and a bookstore. Don´t forget to see the Photographic Publication of 2014 and join the meetings with authors and the curator.

DEBUTS

The 2014 open-call for artists resulted in a selection of 3 interesting photographic projects:

- "Fotostruktura/Photostructure” by Łukasz Filak

- "Sacred Defense" by Wawrzyniec Kolbusz

- "Role Models" by Tatiana Pancewicz

These exhibitions will be open in: Galeria Mieszkanie Gepperta and Shopiq gallery.
