The motto of Alus Arsenals is beer with everything. Well, almost everything. One of the unique points about this bar and restaurant is that it serves traditional Latvian food and local beers are integral to many of the dishes.
The building began life in 1750, as the hotel Petersburg - the first hotel in Riga. Since then it has offered food and board until it reached its current incarnation, as a restaurant of repute in a quiet street in the old town.
The handmade furniture, soft lighting, stained glass and craft curiosities such as lamps and hand made paintings mean that Alus Arsenals is a real refuge from the glare of daily life in Latvia's party capital.
