As a busy Baltic trading port, the River Daugava in Riga has always played an important role in feeding the city's citizens.
Now it's doing the same for the tourists, thanks to an enterprise set up on board the cruise ship Mecklenburg. The ship's Canopus restaurant provides and excellent value summer lunch deal, as well as local culinary flavours and Latvian beers.
In fact the Mecklenburg is a cruise ship, which takes tourists up and down the river showing off the best of Riga in leisurely and comfortable fashion. With the restaurant on board, it is ideal for visitors with a tight schedule, who want to combine various pleasures and get the most out of their trip to Riga.
