Split over three floors and situated a stone’s throw from Old Town Square, Chapeau Rouge is something of a Prague institution, heaving most nights of the week with a young, hedonistic, international crowd. The banging dance music and dark, smoky ambiance particularly on the lower levels won’t appeal to everyone, but if you are in the mood for an inexpensive party night slap bang in the middle of town then Chapeau Rouge will not disappoint. The upstairs bar has more of a pub ambiance, and is a great place to meet fellow travellers from all over the world as well as occasional locals. The recently opened Fenester art gallery upstairs adds a cultural veneer to this central party location.
