As the year winds down and Czechs prepare for Christmas, holiday markets spring up in towns across the country. Prague has some of the best Christmas Markets in Europe, and you can find a huge selection of handicrafts on sale, alongside the usual traditional food, such as "tridelniki", traditional cinnamon cookies, and mead, as well as musical entertainment and attractions for kids. Most festivities will take place in the area of the Old Town Square, Namesti Republiky, and Wenceslas Square.
