Verdi Festival

Prague may be the beating heart of Bohemia, but a highlight of it’s summer musical season is a wonderful composition of some of the best of Italy’s opera performances, brought together as ‘The Verdi Festival’. It opens on 20 August with Puccini’s ‘Tosca’ and Verdi’s La Traviata, along with works by Mozart and Vivaldi.

As benefiting the status of such great maestros, the whole programme is performed at the city’s sumptuous State Opera House. Settle in a stall seat or go for broke in your very own box and you’ll feel like an extra from Tolstoy novel.
