Gdansk Prepares for Euro Kick Off

Everythings nearly in place in Gdansk for the UEFA Euro 2012 championship, which will take place across Ukraine and Poland this summer. Gdansks own amber-coloured PGE Arena will host three group stage matches, seeing the national teams of Spain, Italy, Ireland, and Croatia go head to head. Gdansk will also host one quarter-final match on 22 June.

One team is using Gdansk as a base for its activities, staying in the city for the duration of the championship, as well as using the city as a training base - Germany.

Gdansk has also prepared a huge official fan zone for those without a ticket to matches, where you can view live feeds of Euro games on large screens for free. You can also grab some food and a drink in the space, which can hose up to 30 000 people. The Fan Zone will also host several ticketed events on match off-days including concerts by Pitbull, Noel Gallagher, and ATB. You can find the Gdansk Fan Zone at Zebran Ludowych Square.
